I'm an avid homelabber and maker.

I love 3D printing, laser cutting, PCB manufacturing, developing software and firmware, fixing broken things, and otherwise just making my ideas come to life.

My day job revolves around security and compliance. I've handled several different types of sensitive, controlled information, and I write the Python tooling my team uses daily. I have built up a rigorous automation pipeline to help myself and others save time on their routine, mundane work.

Most of what I build on my own time comes out of the same frustration. Science and education are badly budget-constrained, and a lot of the software sold to researchers and educators is expensive, proprietary, limited, not built very well, or liable to have support pulled out from under it at a moment's notice. SCARI, the Self-Contained Acoustic Research Instrument, is my first and proudest attempt at making a difference in this field.
